We would like to invite your church to participate in GLOW, the mother/daughter retreat for 1st-6th grade girls. This year our theme is “Give”, and we will be focusing on giving to missions. We will be talking about the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, and Viola Webb State & Associational Missions Offering and how they impact missions. Our theme verse, 2 Corinthians 9:7, will encourage girls to “be a cheerful giver.” Our missionary speaker is Amanda. Please encourage the girls in your church to grab their mom, grandma, or other significant women to come to GLOW.
Born a Texan and raised mostly in Houston, during which my family began attending a local church when I was ten, was the start of my love for Jesus. I was baptized only two years later. I attended Howard Payne University, a small private school in Texas, where I studied theology with the intent of serving God overseas as a missionary. I spent a year and a half as a single young woman teaching English at a university in East Asia where I also met my future husband who was also serving God as a single young man. We married in 2006 and prepared to travel back to the same country we met to continue to serve the Lord together. After spending five years together in East Asia, learning more of the language and culture, training the locals in church planting, discipleship and evangelism, we made a difficult decision to return to the States in response to God’s leading for a time of rest and seeking new direction in our ministry.
